Ways we work

Different approaches. One attentive relationship.

Conscious Bodywork brings together hands-on clinical care and complementary reflective practices. They are not interchangeable, and they do not need to be. The right starting point depends on you.

Person noticing discomfort through the shoulder and back01

Hands-on care shaped around the person, not only the presentation.

Holistic chiropractic

A whole-person chiropractic approach that may draw from adjustive techniques, soft-tissue work, applied kinesiology and Chinese medicine perspectives.

You might begin here if…

You may be looking for hands-on care for pain, movement or function while also wanting your wider experience to be heard.

The approach

A session may draw from chiropractic assessment and adjustive techniques, soft-tissue massage, applied kinesiology and Chinese medicine treatment perspectives. The combination is shaped by clinical judgement, your presentation, preferences and consent.

What to expect

Appointments commonly include conversation, physical assessment and hands-on care. Techniques and force are discussed and adapted; you are encouraged to ask questions at any point.

Chiropractic care is a regulated health service. Recommendations should be based on your individual assessment and explained clearly.

Support for the way you train, compete and recover.

Sports performance

Appointments with Garth for athletes from grassroots to elite level, including performance preparation, rehabilitation, injury management and the stress patterns that can affect confidence and focus.

You might begin here if…

You play sport at any level and want care shaped around training, competition, recovery or a return from injury.

The approach

Garth brings together chiropractic assessment, movement and load context, hands-on care and, where appropriate, Neuro-Emotional Technique. The focus can include sport-specific preparation, rehabilitation, injury management and emotional stress patterns that may be getting in the way of confidence or performance.

What to expect

The appointment begins with your sport, training history, current demands and goals. Assessment and care are adapted to what is most useful now, with a practical next step discussed before you leave.

Sports performance care can sit alongside coaching, rehabilitation and medical care. Acute or significant injuries may need imaging, medical assessment or another professional perspective.

A child exploring a gentle cross-body balance movement03

A structured series centred on movement, development and review.

Retained Neonatal Reflexes

An assessment-led treatment series with Garth for patients exploring whether retained neonatal reflex patterns may be relevant to their movement and development.

You might begin here if…

You are looking for an assessment-led series that explores movement and developmental patterns in a calm, individual way.

The approach

Garth considers early reflex patterns alongside the patient’s history, current movement and wider clinical picture. The series may include movement observation, hands-on care and simple activities between appointments.

What to expect

The first appointment provides time for history, assessment and questions. If the series appears suitable, Garth explains the proposed sequence, what will be reviewed and what can be practised at home.

Retained reflex patterns are not treated as a single explanation for every learning, behavioural, emotional or physical concern. Other assessment or support may still be important.

A precise, considered practice rooted in Chinese medicine.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture appointments with Bridgette Birbiles begin with detailed conversation and may use fine, sterile needles at selected points.

You might begin here if…

You may be curious about acupuncture or drawn to a structured clinical modality grounded in Chinese medicine.

The approach

Bridgette Birbiles brings a calm, considered manner to a detailed health conversation. Where suitable, fine, sterile, single-use needles are placed at selected points within an individual acupuncture treatment.

What to expect

The appointment includes time to discuss comfort, positioning and what to expect. Sensations vary, and you can ask to pause or stop at any point.

Suitability, consent, possible side effects and alternatives should be discussed as part of your individual care.

Colourful Aura-Soma equilibrium bottles05

Colour as a language for reflection and self-understanding.

Aura-Soma

A colour-care and reflective practice in which the colours you choose become a starting point for personal enquiry.

You might begin here if…

You may be drawn to colour, symbolism and a structured reflective conversation about what is alive in your life.

The approach

You choose from Aura-Soma equilibrium colour combinations. Those choices become prompts for dialogue and personal reflection within the colour-care framework.

What to expect

A consultation is conversational and non-invasive. The meaning is not imposed as a diagnosis; your own associations, questions and sense-making remain central.

Aura-Soma is a reflective colour-care practice. It is not a diagnostic method or medical treatment.

At a glance

You can choose a place to begin without knowing the whole path.

This comparison is a guide to the character of each appointment, not a promise of outcome.

Depth with discernment

We can honour mystery without claiming certainty.

Conscious Bodywork includes clinical, philosophical and complementary perspectives. We believe it is important to name which is which, explain the limits of an approach and keep your informed choice at the centre.

No modality is appropriate for every person or every concern. Where another professional or form of assessment is more suitable, that should be part of the conversation.
