A clinical foundation
Garth graduated from Macquarie University with a Master of Chiropractic and began developing a broad clinical toolkit.
People & place
Conscious Bodywork grew from a simple conviction: people deserve to be listened to, included and helped to understand what is happening. No one should be reduced to a label.
The beginning
“Listen to your patient. They will tell you what is happening.”
A mentor offered Garth this advice early in his career. It became the thread running through everything that followed.
Garth graduated from Macquarie University with a Master of Chiropractic and began developing a broad clinical toolkit.
Garth and Tegan established their first practice in Dubbo, centred on helping people understand and participate in their care.
After moving to Newcastle, the clinic became an expression of the integrated approach that had been evolving for a decade.
The work continues to develop through clinical experience, study and a willingness to keep listening.

Holistic chiropractor
“There is no greater authority on the state of your body than yourself.”
Garth’s work begins with listening. His role, as he sees it, is not to impose a neat label but to combine education, clinical experience and careful enquiry in a process that helps the patient understand and participate.
Since completing his chiropractic training, he has undertaken further study in Neuro-Emotional Technique, Applied Kinesiology, Chinese medicine and acupuncture perspectives, and the Aura-Soma Colour Care System.
His clinical interests include pregnancy and paediatrics, sports performance and injury management, Retained Neonatal Reflex work, complex recurring presentations, and supporting people whose physical experience exists alongside trauma or significant stress.

Acupuncturist · Chiropractic Assistant
Bridgette Birbiles is an experienced acupuncturist who brings a calm, considered manner to each appointment. Her clinical interests include chronic pain, menstrual and hormonal health, stress and anxiety, alongside other concerns considered within her scope.
Her appointments begin with a detailed health conversation and time to understand what has brought you. Where acupuncture is suitable, the approach and positioning are discussed before treatment begins.
Bridgette aims to create a welcoming space where people can feel comfortable, supported and genuinely heard. Questions are welcome, with comfort and ongoing consent kept central throughout.

You can ask what a practitioner is noticing, why an option is being suggested and what alternatives exist.
You can change your mind, request an adaptation, pause or stop. Consent belongs throughout the appointment.
